Donations
If you are a part of the Bonnyville Baptist Church, this information is for you. We do not solicit or expect gifts from the general public or our guests.
BY WAY OF INFORMATION
The word ‘tithe’ comes from the Old Testament and means 10%. Giving to your churchis between God and you. There are differing opinions on tithing - some think that their tithe should only go towards general funds for their church; others that it includes all donations to their church; still others that it is all of their donations to Christian organizations and beyond. “Throughout the Bible we areencouraged to be generous and give. In fact, there are more verses related to giving than any other subject dealing with money.” (Discovering God’s Way of Handling Money, Crown Ministries, Page 39.)
SUMMER HOLIDAYS
Costs remain the same in the church throughout the summer as at other times of the year. It would be helpful if you could make arrangements to continue your giving even if you are going to be away.(Post-dated cheques can be left at the church office.)
DESIGNATED FUNDS
Donations to the church that are not designated automatically go the General Fund, which is the most needed fund. This finances the basic operations of the church, including staff salaries, facility costs and missions commitments. Designated funds will be accepted only for Board/Church approved programs and projects with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the Board, the remaining designated contribution will be used where needed most.
GIFTS-IN-KIND
Non-monetary donations may be accepted and receipted provided they meet the requirements of our policy (they must be appropriate for our ministries, value established by the donor and the Administration Team, and documentation requirements met). Call the church office for information on how to proceed with a gift-in-kind.
RECEIPTS
You will receive your tax receipt by February 28th. It will be put in your church mailbox. If you move or leave the church for any reason, please provide the office with your current address so that we can mail your receipt to you.
APPRECIATION
Finally, we want to thank you sincerely for your faithful support of the church and its ministries. Boxes of offering envelopes are available on the ‘coffee table’ if you are making your tithes and offerings by cash. You do not need to use an envelope to be receipted if you are using cheques.
